Overview
Generally, central allocating video server can help save storage capacity to meet needs of huge users. The system can also be updated with the growing users and value-added services. The main head end will be responsible for the general integration of media resources or contents, the sub-head ends can be equipped with corresponding VOD systems. VOD systems with sub-head ends can be built based on multi-level CDN mode with universal interfaces for the general contents integration.

The main head end is equipped with digital right management system (DRM), responsible for protection of different media resources like documents and living streams etc.
Central node: allocation of BMS system, server cluster and storage system at VOD center node, BOSS/OSS system, central interactive portal system, H.264converer, media assets management system, intellectual property management system, and IPQAM.
POP node: allocation of edge VOD server cluster, edge interactive portal server cluster, and IPQAM.
Service area: just allocation of IPQAM.

Features
Media Format & Access Protocol
The VOD system support RTSP and HTTP users access, HTTP and FTP download, and the stream can be issued in TCP, UDP, RTP and RTMP protocol.
The VOD system platform support media forms like MPEG2, H264, and FLV.
Load Balancing System Scheme
The load balancing mechanism includes two aspects: storage system load balancing and flow service load balancing.
The system could automatically allocate contents into different storage nodes based on the average-sharing (choose the best node to allocate contents, involving 2nd layer or 3rd layer etc.) of disc capacity. It’s hardly to appear “one node too much contents with other nodes no contents”.
The distribution of service contents to terminal users shall also be subject to the load balancing mechanism, generally allocating resources with lest pressure as to avoid the appearance of over-load operation and help maximize the service strength of the system.
CDS(Contents Delivery System)Scheme
